A dining experience worth making an evening around.
Some restaurants are somewhere you eat. This is somewhere you spend an evening. Locavore NXT sits at the quiet end of a lane outside Ubud, behind a wall of planting, and the shift in atmosphere as you walk in is deliberate — low light, soft acoustics, a room that seems to slow everyone down by a few degrees.
The cooking is contemporary and unmistakably of this island: fermented, smoked and grilled over wood, built around growers the kitchen has worked with for years. Dishes arrive with a short sentence of context rather than a performance, which is precisely the right amount. Nothing here is trying to impress you; it simply is impressive.
We selected it for members who would rather book one long, unhurried table than three rushed ones — couples, small groups of four, and anyone marking something quietly. Arrive early, stay late, and let the kitchen decide the order of the evening.

The Experience
Dinner unfolds as a set sequence of around nine courses, though the kitchen adjusts quietly as the evening goes on. It opens on the terrace with something cold and sharp, moves inside for the wood-fired middle of the menu, and finishes with fermented fruit and a short list of digestifs worth staying for.
The pairing is thoughtful rather than exhaustive — a mix of small-production wines, house ferments and non-alcoholic infusions made in the kitchen. Tell the team what you like and let them lead; this is the rare place where the non-alcoholic pairing is genuinely the more interesting choice.
